Xiaomi Mi 10i dropping in India at an insane price.

Xiaomi Mi 10i

Xiaomi out of the blue come with the Mi 10i and which offers more competition to the Realmes, because of it’s price. In Mi 10i the I stands for India. And Xiaomi says that the phone has been customised with the Indian audience in mind. The MI 10i is set to release on Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Studio stores, and Mi Home stores from January 7. Open sales of the phone will begin from January 8 at 12pm.

The Price

2021 seems to be starting pretty good with the MI 10i. The MI 10i is priced in India at Rs. 20,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB variant, Rs. 21,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB variant and Rs. 23,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB variant. And for me it seems a justifiable price for the phone it is.

The Specs

Coming into the specification. The Mi 10i is equipped with a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) waterdrop-style notch display with up to 120Hz adaptive sync refresh rate. It also offers Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection at the front and back. The phone is powered by the latest 8nm-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC paired with Adreno 619 GPU, up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. When it comes to the cams, the Mi 10i has a quad setup of 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 sensor with f/1.75 aperture+ 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with  f/2.2 aperture + 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth lens as well. And a 16-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.45 aperture as the front shooter.

Mi 10i packs a 4,820mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Xiaomi claims a 0 to up to 100 percent battery in just 58 minutes. The Mi 10i comes with 5G which for me is not a deciding factor. I wouldn’t buy a phone just because it supports 5G but if your looking for the longer run this might be a good thing to have in hand. The Mi 10i is quite hefty weighting 214.5 grams. Other features like the side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IP53 splash proof rating, dual stereo speakers are more common for phones at this price.

Initial Thoughts

I have been a great fan of the Realme 7pro for the insane value for money it offers. But the Mi 10i at a similar price range might make me think twice. If I had to buy or recommend a phone at a 20K – 25K range, it would be not easy. And to start the year like this is interesting. I’m looking forward to responses from the rest of the smartphone market. More competition means better products for us.
